Lead your soldiers to victory with the Trench Warfare Transfer Pack, activity sheet/
World War 1 was fought in the air, on land at sea. Thousands of miles of parallel trenches were dug along the western front from the north coast of Belgium to Switzerland. Various new weapons were introduced during this conflict including grenades, poison gas, trench mortars and tanks.
Life in the trenches was very unpleasant as the trenches were filthy, waterlogged and host to rats and disease. Both sides would constantly shell each other and send their troops 'over the top' to capture their trenches, sometimes with disastrous consequences.
